I bought the DDJ a few months ago to downsize mobile kit from my ever so reliable, but heavy turntables. Free download. I've been reluctant to use it at gigs as the few times I have it has been glitchy on startup, and has unexplainable behavior issues. Well yesterday was only my 5th time using it for a gig, and it left me high and dry, I will probably never use it in a professional environment again. Upon start up, my software would not respond to my hardware at all, but it did recognize it, and I could play music in internal mode and get sound out of the controller. The only thing that worked was the master volume, no upfaders, nothing else.

So after rebooting my computer and the software a few times, my comp wouldn't recognize my controller at all. I went online to make sure all of my software and firmware were up to date and authorized, I even deleted and reinstalled. I looked for people with similar issues and tried what they recommended, which were to make sure the DDJ wasn't selected as my default sound card, and to delete and re-add it in the Audio/midi setup. But since my computer didn't recognize it to begin with, I couldn't delete it. After 5 hours of fussing with, still no luck. I got through the gig with mixes on my phone, but it was pretty much a complete failure, and at the end I couldn't accept payment for as the client knew of the issue.
I have a well-equipped Macbook Pro running 10.8.3, using Serato DJ version 1.1.2. That last time I used it was a week ago with no issue. I think I went online within the past week to make sure my software and firmware were up to date, but that's the only change I made and shouldn't have this sort of impact. I'd appreciate any help solving this issue so I can sell it asap and try to cut my losses.
