A key point for me is that the links in my E-mail software should open the correct FireFox (probably the Quantum after I have made sure it works for most of my applications). If Firefox 57 is already running, the odds are the link will open in Firefox 57. If it's not running, I'm not sure what will happen or what profile will be used.
