Office 2011 and compatibility printing El Capitan I'm like El Capitan, but late last night, I tried to print a Word document for the first time since Windows Office 2011 and had problems - spinning beachball and then the paper closed. A notice of 'error' came. I couldn't print on the trendy hp1400 or the Deskjet wireless.
My wife has been able to print a focus on my hp1400. We have 2 printers - a 1400 hp and a series of J611 Deskjet 3050 wireless [OCDFAE]. (MacBook Pro early 2011) 16 GB 1333 MHZ DDR3 OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 version) I've seen other reports of the same problem but have not found the solution. More of the puzzle. My wife also has a MacBook Pro with Office 2011 - Siena had the faulty motherboard which had to be replaced a year ago. It has updated to El Capitan and can print on the wireless.
