On today's show, Reuben Krippner joins Jeremy Chapman to give a first look at the long awaited OneDrive for Business Mac sync client and unified iOS app. Jeremy demonstrates new security, auditing and mobile device management policies coming in the Compliance Center for Office 365.

I found this but not sure if it fits with my issue: Issue: There is a folder shared by a single user A with users B and C. User B and C use a Mac and User A uses a Windows Laptop. All 3 have Office 365 and use OneDrive for Business.

Users B and C can see the shared folders in the web interface BUT attempting to use the Sync function on their Mac's to pull it down to their local computers does not work. Is this a known limitation? They are able to Sync folders that THEY create but do not seem to be able to Sync the folder that was shared with them.

The Mac's are brand new running the latest OS. Tried using the Sync while in Safari and FireFox.

I'm a little rusty but Iam assuming you are going to the 'shared with me' tab in the left column of the web console and can see your folders and files that are shared with you, and that you have selected one or all and clicked sync and get nothing. Sounds crazy but are you SURE that when you logged in to the Office 365 web console that you selected 'Keep me signed in'. If you do not many syncing options will just not work. They will LOOK available and not be greyed out or anything but will not work. I found this to be true with syncing sharepoint and one drive folders often among otther things.

Hopefully that does the trick for you. If not, maybe you could explain what you are doing in more detail and what exactly is happenning when you do it. I'll check it out and see if I am able to sync locally a shared one-drive folder. I am pretty sure MS uses SharePoint for that in the background. I'll post back in an hour or so and let you know what I come up with.

Might help narrow your question down if someone else is having the same issue. That's my fear, the line 'You can't sync libraries from SharePoint Online team sites. The application supports sync only from your OneDrive for Business library.' Makes me iffy on whether it relates to this problem or not. . OP - Yes, but does that include OneDrive for Business folders that are shared between users? I would logically conclude that it would include one-drive shared folders at this point. When you do successfully sync a shared folder it shows up in the OS as a SharePoint link and not just another folder in your one-drive.

Sadly the iMac I have is Lion and cannot be upgraded to the minimum req. (10.9) in order to test for you. It is too old apparently. A shared one-drive folder is definitely SharePoint backend though. If I can dig up the Mavericks server mini around here somewhere I'll have another go. It's a known limitation with the sync app.

Cant click email setup outlook 2011 for mac. In addition to his suggestions I've got a couple of things that may help troubleshoot. Steve Steve Goodman Check out for more Exchange info or find me on. Does OWA and doing things like setting Out of Office in Outlook 2007+ work successfully? If your Client Access server is available externally, you might wish to try the, testing the Exchange Web Services (which is what Outlook 2011 uses to connect). Are you able to browse to OWA from the Mac without any certificate issues?

We had a customer trying to work with Sharepoint on a Mac (which uses the OneDrive sync tool.it should really be called sharepoint sync tool because OneDrive is under the sharepoint umbrella platform.anyway) but they found that they had to drag the folders all over the place to get any form of functionality out of it which is pointless. After hunting down a competent Microsoft engineer, they confirmed that the sync tool isn't fully compatible with Mac's yet but is currently being worked on.in otherword's its in beta and probably the reason you're having issues syncing sharepoint sites like OneDrive. You always have the option of working inside the web interface? -Trainee lvl 1 techie at your service.
