I'm using Microsoft Word 2004 for Mac and just started having troubles with the horizontal ruler showing 13 inches even though the page set up is set at portrait and letter size. By default, Microsoft Word uses inches as its unit of measurement in dialog boxes and on the ruler. You can change measurement units to centimeters, picas, points, or millimeters. I am writing in regards to a topic that I have seem posted in many other forums regarding no text appearing when typing in Word 365 for Mac. I’m having an issue where my text is not showing up when I type. I The cursor appears, I type, but there is no text. In this thread, you suggested reinstalling Word, but I have done that DOZENS of times, and the problem keeps re-occuring. I have even restored my Mac to factory defaults and re-installed Office, but I'm still having this issue. We have 3 different Mac computers running El Capitan, and it’s happening on all three of them, so this is a serious issue for us, and I’m sure many other users. The only temporary solution I have found is to close and reopen the document several times, but this doesn't always work.

Please advise me on a permanent solution to this issue. Best paint program for mac.
